DC Community Wealth Builders

Branding + Graphic Design
OVERVIEW
DC Community Wealth Builders (DC CWB) is an initiative of DC Council Ward 5, focused on building economic equity and trust in historically underfunded Black, brown, and low-wealth communities in Washington, D.C. I was commissioned to develop the full visual identity for the organization — crafting a brand that communicates civic strength, neighborhood pride, and local ownership.
Contributions
I created the naming, logo, and visual identity for DC CWB, designing a flexible brand system that reflected both governmental structure and grassroots energy. Drawing inspiration from the city’s flag and district map, I built a modular graphic language that could scale across institutional communications, public campaigns, and community-facing materials. The work included everything from typographic styling and iconography to physical applications like flags and printed event collateral.
Logo System: Designed primary lockups and simplified marks for use across signage, social, and government reports — integrating D.C. symbols with a contemporary typographic tone.

Color + Typography: Developed a custom palette rooted in civic trust and regional relevance, with modern serif and sans-serif combinations for voice flexibility.

Event Collateral:
Poster and campaign graphics for “Community Wealth Building Day,” including illustration, layout, and messaging strategy

Civic Visuals: Applications on flags, banners, and community signage to ensure brand visibility across neighborhoods and municipal events.
